Tessa Thompson
Tessa Lynn Thompson, an artist and performer from Los Angeles was born in 1983. She is the daughter singer-songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the daughter of the actor and musician Bobby Ramos. Her birthplace was in Los Angeles and raised there prior to moving to Brooklyn. Her father is of Afro-Panamanian heritage and her mother of Mexican and British Isles origins. Thompson has attended Santa Monica High School, where she played in numerous theatre productions. Following graduation, she was enrolled in Santa Monica College, where she earned a certificate in the field of cultural anthropology. The role she played was Juliet in William Shakespeare's drama "Romeo and Juliet" in a play that was staged in the Boston Court Theatre in Pasadena, California. The performance was rewarded with an NAACP Theatre nomination the same year. The first time she appeared on TV was in 2005, when she appeared on CBS.
