
Jazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native, was born and raised there. Pam, Jazmine's mother, was a former backup singer for Philadelphia International Records. At the age of five, her father was appointed as curator for the Strawberry Mansion Section. Her family eventually moved into this iconic house. The 2005 graduate of the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was a vocal music major. Sullivan started singing in contralto with the youth choir and shortly after, in the adult choir. Sullivan had limited exposure to secular music. She recalls that she was in her 11th year when someone requested her to sing in a solo in church. She wasn't yet ready for. At that time, McDonald's held a contest that was open to children living in cities. I was selected to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" during it's Showtime At the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. Stevie Wonder sang her part at the birthday of her grandson at thirteen. Sullivan was initially signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. When she was 15 She was signed by Jive Records. They recorded her complete album at Jive Records, however the album was never made available for release. Sullivan was then dropped out of the company. Missy Elliott was her producer on several tracks that were on the album she released as her first. Of these "Backstabbers" of Timbaland and Timbaland, which Elliott produced, was Sullivan's favorite track.
